In accordance with 23 U.S.C. 151, FHWA has designated alternative fuel corridors to support installation of EV charging, hydrogen, propane, and natural gas fueling infrastructure at strategic locations along major national highways. The FHWA has updated and redesignated the corridors on an annual basis by soliciting nominations from State and local officials. This recurring process responds to the rapidly evolving state of vehicle technology, increased market adoption, and installation of infrastructure related to the use of alternative fuels.
